Job Summary

Salary £15,725 per annum
Location 4 Children, Rochford, SS41QF
Hours 35 per week

Responsibilities:

To assist with the management, co-ordination and administration of the Children’s Centre.

General office duties including word-processing, photocopying, filing, mailouts and dealing with general correspondence and telephone calls.

To maintain efficient filing and communication systems.

Gathering and collating statistical information for quarterly returns to ECC

To work with the Children’s Centre Co-ordinators and Grants Officers to explore funding opportunities.

To work with different partners at the centre, to arrange courses, events, etc at the centre.   

To liaise and engage with parents who access the centre, to provide advice and support and answer general queries.

Arranging for crèche workers where necessary.

Ensure an office diary for the Children’s Centre Co-ordinators is maintained and circulated on a weekly basis.   

To be a first point of contact for families who are new to the centre.

To support families to use the centre and signpost where necessary.

Qualifications & Skills: (Essential Criteria)

General office experience, including setting up and maintaining office systems

Good verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to produce concise and accurate reports.

A flexible and enthusiastic manner, with a go getting attitude.

Experience of working with a wide variety of people and organisations.

A methodical and efficient approach to tasks, with good attention to detail and the ability to work on own initiative with minimum supervision.

A good level of computer literacy, including word-processing, plus a willingness to expand knowledge and training.

Excellent organisational skills.

Ability to prioritise own workload and meet deadlines whilst under pressure, whilst working in a fast moving/changing environment.

An understanding of the issues concerning equal opportunities and a commitment to working within an equal opportunities environment.

Appreciation of the importance of customer care.

Some experience of working with families.

A level 2 qualification in childcare.
