After School Club Playworker

Joining a staff team of 6 working to provide quality childcare within an afterschool club for children aged 4 to 12. 

Responsibilities:

Taking part in the day to day administration, record keeping,

Providing safe, creative, appropriate play opportunities, preparing activities, taking part in organising the programme.

Providing full care for the children from school collection to the parents collecting them from the centre at 18:00.

Administering first aid as appropriate (when trained)

Encouraging parental involvement and support

Close liaison with parents, schools and other childcare and play related agencies

Attending meetings as appropriate

Carrying out all responsibilities and activities within an equal opportunities framework

Working within agreed policies

Qualifications & Skills:

The ideal candidate will hold a NVQ level 2 in playwork or equivalent.  

First aid certificate and safeguarding children training is required. 

Additional Information:

Candidate must be able to successfully obtain an enhanced CRB check

Some training can be obtained in post.

Working Pattern

Monday, Wednesday, thursday and Friday 15:00 to 18:00
Tuesday 14:00 to 18:00.
Extra hours may be available during the school holidays
Hourly rate based on relevant experience and qualifications.
